Drs. Dietrich and Kalonaros recently built a brand new state of the art facility to better serve both their patients of many years, as well as their many new patients, in their rapidly growing community.
John L. Dietrich, D.D.S.
Dr. John L. Dietrich was born in Aberdeen, MD, and his family relocated to Huntington, NY when he was 1 year of age. He graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1974. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Fairfield University in Conn., in 1978, and was awarded his D.D.S. (Dental degree) from the University of Buffalo (Buffalo, NY) in 1982. He completed a one year general practice Residency at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, before relocating to sunny Florida. After working in 2 practices for other dentists, he and his wife Dr. Theodora Kalonaros-Dietrich opened their own practice in Port Charlotte, FL in July of 1985.
Dr. John L. Dietrich, besides being highly skilled in all facets of general dentistry, has extensive training in Implant placement and restoration, Cosmetic Dentistry, Sedation Dentistry, and TMJ treatment. He is known for his meticulous attention to every detail of dental treatment. Over the years he has served on the Board of the Charlotte County Dental Society, the FL West Coast Dental Association, the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, and numerous other organizations. He is a member of the Charlotte County Dental Society, the FL West Coast Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Theodora Kalonaros-Dietrich, D.D.S.
Dr. Theodora Kalonaros-Dietrich was born in Hackensack, NJ, and graduated from Teaneck High School in Teaneck, NJ in 1977. She then moved to Athens, Greece (her Father, a Greek army World War II General, returned to his native Greece after retiring). Upon successfully completing highly competitive entrance exams, she attained acceptance to Dental School in Greece. She was awarded her D.D.S. degree from the University of Athens Dental School in 1982. She then completed one year of post-graduate studies in dentistry at N.Y.U. College of Dentistry, in New York City, NY. She was married to Dr. John L. Dietrich in Sept. of 1984, and relocated to sunny Florida, where they together opened their private practice in 1985.
Dr. Kalonaros is known for her caring way with patients, and although she is highly skilled in treatment of all patients, she has a special touch with children. She has extensive training in Cosmetic Dentistry, Restorative Dentistry, and Children's Dentistry.She enjoys seeing people regain their confidence through a brand new bright smile!
She has served on the Health Advisory Board for the Charlotte County Public Schools, and has been a Sunday School and Greek School teacher in her Church for many years. She is also a member of the Charlotte County Dental Society, the FL West Coast Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
