Dr. John L. Dietrich was born in Aberdeen, MD, but he grew up on Long Island, New York. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Fairfield University in Connecticut and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Buffalo in New York. After completing a one-year residency at Erie County Medical Center, he relocated to Florida. He worked in two other practices before he and his wife, Dr. Theodora Kalonaros-Dietrich, opened their current Port Charlotte dental practice in 1985.
Besides being highly skilled and trained in general dentistry, Dr. Dietrich has comprehensive training in cosmetic dentistry, implant placement, restorative dentistry, relieving dental anxiety, and treatments for TMJ issues. He takes pride in paying attention to the smallest details in every treatment he does.
Dr. Dietrich has served on the Board for the Charlotte County Dental Society, the Florida West Coast District Dental Association, the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, and more. He is a proud member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. And by being a member of the Spear Study Club and the Seattle Study Club, Dr. Dietrich continues to study the latest research and training for dentistry. He has also completed the DOCS Oral Sedation Dentistry course in order to offer relaxing treatments to anxious patients.
